The completion of a combinatorial manifold with boundary is defined as the union of this simplicial complex with the cone over its boundary. Even though, in general, the completion has a singularity at the apex of the cone, the authors prove that existing commutative algebraic techniques (originally provided by the authors for combinatorial manifolds without boundary) apply to the Stanley-Reisner ring of the completion. In conjunction with the recent extension to combinatorial spheres of Stanley's \(g\)-theorem, this yields Macaulay-type bounds on the \(g\)-vectors of orientable combinatorial manifolds with boundary in terms of their Betti numbers. These include analogues of the Kühnel conjectures (now, theorems due to Adiprasito, cf. [\textit{K. Adiprasito}, ``Combinatorial Lefschetz theorems beyond positivity'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1812.10454}]) on combinatorial manifolds without boundary. The paper concludes with a discussion on the cases of equality in these bounds.
