In the paper under review, the author investigates the mathematical problem describing the transmission of waves through a sound-hard perforation along an interface. More precisely, the author considers a domain \(\Omega_\epsilon\) constructed by removing from a Lipschitz domain \(\Omega\) a set \(\Sigma_\epsilon\) of inclusions, each of them of size \(\epsilon\), distributed along a manifold \(\Gamma_0\) of codimension \(1\). Given a frequency \(\omega\) and a source \(f \in L^2(\Omega)\), he considers the solution \(p^\epsilon\) of the Helmholtz equation \[ -\Delta p^\epsilon=\omega^2 p^\epsilon +f \qquad \mathrm{in } \Omega_\epsilon, \] with a homogeneous Dirichlet condition on \(\partial \Omega\) and a homogeneous Neumann condition on \(\partial \Sigma_\epsilon\). As is well known, the solution \(p^\epsilon\) weakly converges to a function \(p\) which solves the equation \[ -\Delta p=\omega^2 p +f \qquad \mathrm{in } \Omega . \] Then the author investigates the asymptotic behavior of \[ v^\epsilon \equiv \frac{p^\epsilon-p}{\epsilon}, \] and proves that its weak limit \(v\) solves the equation \[ -\Delta v=\omega^2 v \qquad \mathrm{in }\Omega \setminus \Gamma_0, \] together with some appropriate jump conditions on \(\Gamma_0\).
