Let \(n\) be a positive integer, and let \( x_1,x_2,\dots,x_n,\dots,y_1,y_2,\dots, y_n,\dots \) be indeterminates. Let \[ \sigma_n =\sum_{k=1}^n \frac{y_k}{x_k}, \quad \tau_n= \sum_{k=1}^n (-1)^{k-1} \frac{y_k}{x_k} \] be rational functions of the indeterminates \(x_1,x_2,\dots,x_n,y_1,y_2,\dots, y_n\) with coefficients in the field \(\mathbb{Q} \). The three formulas allowing to transformation \(\sigma_n\) and \(\tau_n\) into continued fractions of the form \[ R_m=\frac{a_1}{b_1} \genfrac{}{}{0pt}{0}{}{+} \frac{a_2}{b_2} \genfrac{}{}{0pt}{0}{}{+} \genfrac{}{}{0pt}{0}{}{\cdots} \genfrac{}{}{0pt}{0}{}{+} \frac{a_m}{b_m} \] are given in the article. Three theorems are proved in the paper. Examples are also considered.
