The Runge and Mergelyan theorems are two essential ideas in the subject of holomorphic approximation in complex analysis. For a comprehensive review, see [\textit{J. E. Fornæss} et al., in: Advancements in complex analysis. From theory to practice. Cham: Springer. 133--192 (2020; Zbl 1483.32020)]. In this note, the authors study holomorphic approximation in complex manifolds and approximation of \(\overline{\partial}\)-closed differential forms in various topologies. They establish equivalent conditions between approximation results and certain properties of Dolbeault cohomology groups.
