The authors introduce the notations of E-weighted core-EP and \(F\)-weighted dual core-(EP) inverses as follows. Let \(A, E, F \in\mathbb{C}^{n\times n}\) and \(\mathrm{ind}(A)=k\). A matrix \(X\in\mathbb{C}^{n\times n}\) is called the E-weighted core-EP inverse of \(A\) if \(XA^{k+1}=A^k\), \(AX^2=X\), and \((EAX)^*=EAX\). A matrix \(Y\in\mathbb{C}^{n\times n}\) satisfying \(A^{k+1}Y=A^k\), \(Y^2A = Y\), and \((FYA)^*=FYA\) is called the F-weighted dual core-EP inverse of \(A\). The authors give several explicit expression for the weighted core-EP inverse of matrices through other generalised inverses such as Drazin inverses, weighted core inverse, and generalised Moore-Penrose inverses. They study additive properties of the E-weighted core-EP and F-weighted dual core-EP inverse of matrices. Introducing star weighted core-EP and weighted core-EP star matrices, they solve the system of matrix equations and discuss a few characterisation and representation of star weighted core-EP and weighted core-EP star classes of matrices.
