The author studies the nonlocal dynamics of a model simulating two coupled oscillators with nonlinear delayed feedback of the form \[ \dot u_0(t) + u_0(t) = \lambda F(u_0(t - T)) + \gamma(u_1(t) - u_0(t)), \] \[ \dot u_1(t) + u_1(t) = \lambda F(u_1(t - T)) + \gamma(u_0(t) - u_1(t)), \] where \(u_0\) and \(u_1\) are scalar variables, \(\lambda, T,\) and the coupling coefficient \(\gamma\) are positive parameters (\(\lambda\gg1,\) \(\gamma=\gamma_1/\ln\lambda,\) \(\gamma_1\neq 0\)), and the nonlinear smooth function \(F\) is compactly supported, that is, this function is identically zero outside the interval \([-p,p]\) (\(p\) is some positive constant). Using the asymptotic method of a large parameter, the author reduces the problem of the existence and stability of periodic relaxation solutions of the original infinite-dimensional system to studying the dynamics of the constructed finite-dimensional map. It is shown here that for declared value of the coupling parameter \(\gamma\) the system may have both homogeneous and inhomogeneous relaxation cycles. In these modes, a peak of one oscillator leads to a peak of another oscillator (coupling is relatively large). Also exponentially orbitally stable (and unstable) cycles of both types are found. Moreover, if \(\gamma_1>0\) is large enough, then the homogeneous relaxation cycles are stable. So, for this order of \(\gamma\) homogeneous relaxation cycles lose stability and stable inhomogeneous relaxation cycles emerge.
