The paper under review is devoted to the study of global properties of solutions at infinity of a certain class of PDEs involving the \(p\)-Laplacian on a complete Riemannian manifold \((M, g)\). Let \(\Omega\subset M\) be a relatively compact domain and \(\Lambda : [0, +\infty) \to [0, +\infty)\) a non-decreasing function satisfying certain structural conditions. The differential equation \(\Delta_p u=\Lambda(u)\), on \(M \setminus \bar\Omega\), is considered. A model manifold \(M^m_\sigma\) is the Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^m\) endowed with the smooth, complete Riemannian metric that in polar coordinates is given by \(g = dr \otimes dr + \sigma^2(r)g_{S^{m-1}}\). The authors establish a decay property on a complete model manifold satisfying Ric \(\ge -C\), for some constant \(C\ge 0\), for positive and bounded subsolutions of the above equation. Its proof was inspired by a paper of [\textit{G. Pacelli Bessa} et al., Rev. Mat. Iberoam. 29, No. 2, 579--610 (2013; Zbl 1341.35065)]. Recall that \((M, g)\) is called stochastically complete if the Brownian motion trajectories on \(M\) do not explode in finite time almost surely. \textit{R. Azencott} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 102, 193--240 (1974; Zbl 0293.60071)] proved that this is equivalent to the fact that, for any \(\lambda > 0\), the only bounded solution \(u\ge 0\) of the equation \(\Delta u = \lambda u\) is the trivial solution \(u=0\). A necessary and sufficient condition for a complete model manifold to be \(p\)-stochastically complete is proved. The following result is obtained. Let \(M^m_\sigma\) be a complete model manifold whose sectional curvature satisfies \(-k^2 \le Sect \le 0\), for some \(k\in\mathbb{R}\). If \(u \in C^1(M^m_\sigma\setminus\Omega)\) is a nonnegative and bounded subsolution of the equation \(\Delta_p u=\Lambda(u)\), with \(\Lambda\) as above, then \(u\) has compact support.\par Some applications are given.
