The aim of this article is to prove that every hypercyclic weighted composition operator \(C_{w,\varphi}\), acting on the space \(C^{\infty}(\mathbb{R})\) of smooth functions on the real line, is even frequently hypercyclic. The characterization of hypercyclic operators \(C_{w,\varphi}\) was obtained by the second author of the paper under review in [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 445, No. 1, 1097--1113 (2017; Zbl 1394.47032)]. If \(T\) is a frequently hypercyclic operator on a Fréchet space \(X\), then the set \(FHC(T)\) of all frequently hypercyclic vectors for \(T\) is of first Baire category in \(X\) and it might not satisfy \(X=FHC(T)+FHC(T)\), as was shown by \textit{A. Bonilla} and \textit{K. G. Grosse-Erdmann} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 27, No. 2, 383--404 (2007; Zbl 1119.47011)]. The authors show that, for each frequently hypercyclic weighted composition operator \(T:=C_{w,\varphi}\) on \(C^{\infty}(\mathbb{R})\), one has \(C^{\infty} (\mathbb{R})=FHC(T)+FHC(T)\). Moreover they prove that the set of frequently hypercyclic vectors for \(C_{w,\varphi}\) contains a closed infinite dimensional subspace. \textit{F. Bayart} et al. [Isr. J. Math. 214, No. 1, 149--166 (2016; Zbl 1372.47010)] gave examples showing that this need not hold for all frequently hypercylcic operator. The solution of Abel's equation with additional properties in the context of smooth functions plays a relevant role in the proofs.
