The aim of the paper is to construct minimal Lagrangian surfaces \(f:M\rightarrow \mathbb{CP}^2\) for which the domains of the surfaces are contractible. The case of spheres is known and thus the authors focus on when the simply-connected cover of the Riemann surface is non-compact. In Section 2 preliminaries are recalled, such as the basic loop group method and the Wu's formula. In Section 4 minimal Lagrangian surfaces admitting symmetries are investigated: a symmetry is a pair \((\gamma,\,\mathcal{R})\in (\mathrm{Aut}(M),\,\mathrm{Iso}_0(\mathbb{CP}^2))\) such that \(f(\gamma(z))=\mathcal{R}f(z)\) for all \(z\in M\). In Section \(5\), the authors give a characterization of all full minimal Lagrangian surfaces when \(\gamma\) or \(R\) have finite order. In Section 6 the case of minimal Lagrangian surfaces with large groups of symmetries is considered. In Section 7, entire radially symmetric minimal Lagrangian immersions are investigated; eventually in Section 8 a construction of entire radially symmetric minimal Lagrangian immersions with constant normalized potential is given.
