This is the second in a pair of papers reviewing developments in the study of networks of Kuramoto phase oscillators. Here the emphasis is on networks of identical oscillators with coupling which is not all-to-all. This form of coupling means there is no longer a permutation symmetry of all oscillators, which leads to the absence of some types of behaviour but the possibility of others, relative to the all-to-all coupled case. One type of network discussed is one with a central element coupled equally with peripheral elements. Another is a network in which the coupling matrix is circulant. Such systems may have time-reversible symmetry which leads to the coexistence of conservative and dissipative dynamics in different parts of the phase space. The last section covers some results regarding chimera states.
