Jordan epimorphisms of nest algebras (Q2227561)

Let \(\phi\) be a surjective Jordan homomorphism from a nest algebra \(\operatorname{Alg}\mathcal{N}\) onto another nest algebra \(\operatorname{Alg}\mathcal{M}\). It is shown that \(\phi\) is a homomorphism, or \(\phi\) is an anti-homomorphism, or \(\phi(\mathcal{N} ) = \{0, I\}\). Furthermore, if \(\operatorname{Alg}\mathcal{N}\) is of infinite multiplicity, then \(\phi\) is either a homomorphism or an anti-homomorphism.
