Let \([b, T]\) be the commutator generated by \(b\) and \(T\), where \(b \in \mathrm{BMO}(\mathbb R^n)\) and \(T\) is a Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operator. The authors study some strong type and weak type boundedness estimates including the type \(L\log L\) inequality for \([b, T]\) on the Herz-type spaces with variable exponent. Their main result is as follows: Let \(q\) be measurable function, mapping \(\mathbb R^n\) to \([0,\infty)\) and satisfying \(1<\operatorname{ess\,\,inf}_{x\in \mathbb R^n}q(x)\) and \(\operatorname{ess\,\,sup}_{x\in \mathbb R^n}q(x)<\infty\). Assume that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on \(L^{q(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)\). Let \(b\in \mathrm{BMO}(\mathbb R^n)\) and \(T\) be a standard Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operator; that is, \(Tf (x) = \mathrm{p.v.}\int_{\mathbb R^n} k(x, y)f(y)dy\). Suppose that the distribution kernel of \(T\) coincides in the complement of the diagonal with a locally integrable function \(k(x, y)\) which satisfies: \[\sup_{x\in A_k}\|[k(x, \cdot)-k(x, 0)]\chi_{A_j}\|_{L^{q'(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)} \le C2^{(j-k)\varepsilon-kn}\|\chi_{A_j}\|_{L^{q'(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)}\] and \[\sup_{y\in A_j} \|[k(\cdot, y)-k(\cdot, 0)]\chi_{A_k}\|_{L^{q(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)} \le C2^{(j-k)\varepsilon -kn}\|\chi_{A_k}\|_{L^{q(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)}\] for some \(\varepsilon \in (0, 1]\) and any \(k, j \in \mathbb Z\) with \(j\le k-3\), where \(A_k=\{x\in\mathbb R^n: 2^{k-1}<|x|\le 2^k\}\). Suppose that the commutator \([b, T] \) is bounded on \(L^{q(\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)\). If \(0 < p <\infty\) and \(0 <\alpha< n\delta_2 + \varepsilon\), then \([b, T]\) is a bounded operator from \(H\dot{K}_{q(\cdot),b}^{\alpha,p,0}(\mathbb R^n)\) to \(\dot{K}_{q(\cdot)}^{\alpha,p}(\mathbb R^n)\). In the above, \(\delta_2\) is a positive constant determined by \(q(\cdot)\). Meanwhile, the similar results for the commutators of fractional integral operator \([b,I_l]\) are also obtained. As applications, they consider the regularity in the Herz-type spaces with variable exponent of strong solutions to nondivergence elliptic equations with \(\mathrm{VMO}\) coefficients.
