The authors are concerned with accurate finite element solutions to a boundary value problem attached to 2D singularly perturbed Bi-wave equation. They use a discontinuous rectangular Morley element method and add some penalty terms to the weak formulation in order to assure a quasi-uniform convergence rate of order \(O(h)\) in the energy norm. They carry out some numerical experiments. It seems somewhat strange that for different orders of magnitude of the perturbation parameter the solutions look very similar to the fundamental modes of Laplacian.
