The paper is concerned with the equation \[c'(t)=-c(t)x(t-\tau)\quad t \geq t_0 \geq0 \] subject toan initial function \[x(t) = \varphi(t), \quad t \in [t_0 - \tau, t_0].\] As the author explains, if the equation has a positive solution, then there are two positive solutions, the dominant solution and the subdominant solution. Each solution can be uniquely represented using the dominant and subdominant solutions. The paper gives more detailed consideration to the cases \( c(t)= c\) and \(c(t)=c+d/t\). Finally, the author concludes by describing two open problems.
