    It is proved that the solution of equation \[ \dot{x}(t)=Ax(t)+Bx(t-\tau),\;x\in \mathbb R^n,\;t\geq 0, \qquad x(t)=\varphi(t),\;-\tau\leq t\leq 0, \] can be represented in the form \[ x(t)=X_0\varphi(-\tau)+\int_{-\tau}^{0}X_0(t-\tau-s)\dot{\varphi}(s)\,ds,\qquad X_{0}(t)=\Theta,\;t<-\tau, \] where \(X_0(t)\) is the solution of the matrix equation \[ \dot{X}(t)=AX(t)+BX(t-\tau), \qquad X_0(t)=I,\;-\tau\geq t\leq 0. \] Moreover, a structure of the function \(X_0(t)\) is established.
