In this paper, the authors investigate a diffusive SIR epidemic models with an age-structured protection phase and a saturated incidence rate. By using the characteristics method, Schauder's fixed point theorem and the upper/lower solution method, they obtain the minimal wave speed and study the existence and non-existence of non-trivial traveling wave solutions. The authors further discuss how model parameters, such as protection rates, affect the minimal wave speed.
