Cluster tilting modules were introduced by \textit{O. Iyama} [Adv. Math. 210, No. 1, 51--82 (2007; Zbl 1115.16006)] and they are very useful in the theory of cluster algebras and the representation theory of algebras. An interesting question is when a block of a finite group algebra has a cluster tilting module. It was shown by \textit{K. Erdmann} and \textit{T. Holm} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 136, No. 9, 3069--3078 (2008; Zbl 1153.16010)] that, if a block of a finite group algebra has a cluster tilting module then it must be representation-finite or Morita equivalent to an algebra of quaternion type. Every representation-finite block of a finite group algebra is derived equivalent to a symmetric Nakayama algebra for which one can judge the existence of cluster tilting modules by \textit{E. Darpö} and \textit{O. Iyama}'s classification [Adv. Math. 362, Article ID 106932, 50 p. (2020; Zbl 1481.16013)]. The existence of cluster tilting modules for an algebra of quaternion type is an open question posed by Erdmann and Holm [loc. cit.]. In this paper, the authors prove that the algebra of quaternion type \(Q(3\mathcal{A})^2_2\), which is Morita equivalent to the principal block of the group algebra of special linear group \(\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}_5)\) over a splitting field of characteristic two, has a 3-cluster tilting module. The example was found with the aid of computer. It is the first example of a cluster tilting module of a representation-infinite block of a finite group algebra, and it gives a positive answer to the question of Erdmann and Holm.
