The aim of this paper is to describe another type of Manin involutions. For cubic pencils the author defines the notion of an involution curve. This is a curve which intersects each curve of the pencil in exactly one non-base point of the pencil. Involution curves can be used to construct integrable maps of the plane which leave invariant a cubic pencil. This paper is organized as follows: Section 1 is an introduction to the subject and summarizes the main results. Section 2 deals with a map obtained by open reduction of the quad-equation. Section 3 is devoted to involutions curves for singular and non-singular cubic pencils. Section 5 deals with measure preservation. The paper is supported by a few appendices.
