An \(L^p\)-operator algebra is a Banach algebra \(A\) for which there exists an isometric homomorphism from \(A\) to the set of bounded operators on some \(L^p\)-space. The theory for the case \(p=2\) is well developed, however for \(p \in [1, \infty) \setminus \{2\}\) there is no unifying theory yet. There are many known examples of \(L^p\)-operator algebras and the paper under review puts them in one place. Examples included are group algebras, Cuntz algebras, graph algebras and crossed products. The paper is a mix of known results with some new results. The author does an excellent job describing the differences between \(L^p\)-operator algebras for \(p \neq 2\) and the \(L^2\)-theory. This paper serves as a good introduction to \(L^p\)-operator algebras and I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the topic.
