In this paper, the authors study center-focus and cyclicity problems inside a class of 3-dimensional vector fields that admit a first integral that leaves invariant any sphere centered at the origin. They classify the centers of linear, quadratic homogeneous and a family of quadratic vector fields F, restricted to one of these spheres. Moreover, they showed the existence of at least 4 limit cycles in the family F. To sum up, the analysis in this paper is skillful and interesting and the results are useful in studying the second part of Hilbert's 16th problem.
