\textit{W. Chen} et al. [J. Algebra Appl. 17, No. 5, Article ID 1850141, 15 p. (2018; Zbl 1453.13049)] introduced localization sequences and colocalization sequences of additive categories, similar to the lower and upper recollements of triangulated categories, respectively. They considered recollements of additive categories by cotorsion pairs in triangulated categories. Extriangulated categories were introduced by [\textit{H. Nakaoka} and \textit{Y. Palu}, Cah. Topol. Géom. Différ. Catég. 60, No. 2, 117--193 (2019; Zbl 1451.18021)] by extracting those properties of Ext\(^1\) on exact categories and on triangulated categories that seem relevant from the point of view of cotorsion pairs. In this paper, the authors extend Chen-Liu-Yang's results to extriangulated categories. This result generalizes Chen-Liu-Yang's results on a triangulated category and is new for an exact category case. In particular, applying these results to complex categories, one reobtain Krause's recollement. In fact, without considering homotopy categories, the existence of Krause's recollement is reproved.
