The authors develop a family of high-order iterative methods of at least third order for solving nonlinear equations in Banach spaces. The family includes the Chebyshev method and two-step methods as special cases. The semilocal convergence of the methods is analyzed under the gamma conditions, by constructing a suitable majorizing function of rational type. Finally an example on total variation denoising model of [\textit{L. I. Rudin} et al., Physica D 60, No. 1--4, 259--268 (1992; Zbl 0780.49028)] is given to illustrate their efficiency, and the computational efficiency was discussed for several specific choices from the family.
