The authors study hypersurfaces in an \(n\)-dimensional warped product manifold which is as a differentiable manifold the product of an interval with an \((n-1)\)-dimensional compact manifold with constant sectional curvature. They also assume that the warping function and its derivatives satisfies certain inequalities and boundary conditions. First they reprove the (known) results that a star-shaped hypersurface in such a manifold for which the quotient of two normalised mean curvatures is constant is necessarily a slice. Secondly they consider the condition that there exist non-negative numbers \(a_i\) and \(b_i\) (with at least one non vanishing) such that either \(\sum_{i=1}^{\ell -1} a_i H_i =\sum_{j=1}^k b_j H_j\), if \(2 \leq \ell <k \leq n-1\) or such that \(\sum_{i=0}^{\ell -1} a_i H_i =\sum_{j=1}^k b_j H_j\), if \(1 \leq \ell < k\leq n-2\). If either one of the above conditions is satisfied, the authors show that a closed \(k\)-convex star-shaped hypersurface is necessarily a slice. The authors also obtain various other results related to the rigidity of hypersurfaces in such spaces.
