Extending the results of \textit{M. Sakai} [Topology Appl. 156, No. 1, 117--123 (2008; Zbl 1157.54006)], the authors prove that a Baire topological vector space is metrizable if and only if it has countable \(cs^*\)-character, and that the same is true for a locally convex \(b\)-Baire like space.
