Fix \(p\) in the interval \((0,1]\). The authors construct a separable \(p\)-Banach space, denoted \(\mathbb{G}_p\), as announced in the title: this means that whenever \(Y\) is a finite-dimensional \(p\)-Banach space, \(X\) is a subspace of \(Y\) and \(\varepsilon>0\), then every isometry from \(X\) into \(\mathbb{G}_p\) admits an extension from \(Y\) into \(\mathbb{G}_p\) which is an \(\varepsilon\)-isometry. The case \(p=1\) is of course the classical Banach space of \textit{V. I. Gurarij} [Sib. Mat. Zh. 7, 1002--1013 (1966; Zbl 0166.39303)]; the extension to \(p<1\) is formidable. Moreover, \(\mathbb{G}_p\) is unique up to isometry, contains an isometric copy of every separable \(p\)-Banach space, is isomorphic to its square, and is ``locally injective'' for \(p\)-Banach spaces. They also present a nonseparable version of this space which is of universal disposition for separable spaces. This yields the first known example of a ``separably injective'' \(p\)-Banach space when \(p<1\).
