Spectral bounds for the Neumann-Poincaré operator on planar domains with corners (Q2253705)

The authors consider the boundary double layer potential associated with the Laplacian, known as the Neumann-Poincaré operator. In the case of piecewise smooth curvilinear polygons in the plane, they give upper bounds for the essential spectrum of this operator acting on the Sobolov space of order \(1/2\). The introduction contains a nice overview on the existing results and the methods used in this article.
