The bifurcations are well investigated for system with symmetries of two nonlinear coupled oscillators which has five parameters \(\delta\), \(\kappa\), \(\gamma\), \(a\) and \(b\). The first two are concerned with the force terms, the middle one is in the energy function of one oscillator and the last two refer to coupling terms. In order to show how complex dynamical behavior of the system may occur, the authors study (a) the local stability near the equilibrium, which is confirmed by center reductions of normal forms and calculations of the first Lyapunov coefficient; (b) the global stability via Lyapunov function; (c) the isolated \(2\pi\)- periodic solution using first-order averaging; (d) resonance tongues, cascade of periodic doublings and strange attractors by numerical computations,. (e) the \(\pi\)-periodic solution by Poincare-Lindstedt method. In my opinion, this paper is a typical model of dealing with torus bifurcations in the resonant case.
