    For an \(m\)-homogeneous polynomial, \(P=\sum_{|\alpha|=m}a_\alpha x^\alpha\), on the complex Banach space \(\ell_\infty^n\), the author uses \(|P|_{{m+1}\over 2m}\) to denote \(\left(\sum_{|\alpha|=m}|a_\alpha |^{{m+1}\over 2m}\right)^{{2m}\over{m+1}}\), while \({\mathcal P}(^m\ell_\infty^n)\) denotes the space of all \(m\)-homogeneous polynomials on \(\ell_\infty^n\). In [Ann. Math. (2) 32, 600--622 (1931; Zbl 0001.26901)], \textit{H. F. Bohnenblust} and \textit{E. Hille} showed that there is a constant \(D(m)\) such that \(|P|_{{m+1}\over 2m}\leq D(m)\sup_{\|x\|_\infty\leq 1}|P(x)|\) for all \(P\) in \({\mathcal P}(^m\ell_\infty^n)\), all \(n\in\mathbb N\}\). In this note, the author obtains a lower bound of \((1+2^{1-m})^{1\over 2m}\) for \(D(m)\). This lower bound is always strictly greater than \(1\).
