\textit{N. Aoki} [Am. J. Math. 113, No. 5, 779--833 (1991; Zbl 0752.14021)] decomposed the Jacobian of the Fermat curve of degree \(N\) using techniques of number theory by considering the action of the group of automorphisms isomorphic to \((\mathbb{Z}/N\mathbb{Z})^2\). The present paper decomposes the Jacobian further using the full group of automorphisms of the Fermat curve of prime degree. For example, in the case of degree 7, Aoki decomposed the Jacobian into a product of 5 threefolds, whereas in the present paper it is shown that 2 of the threefolds decompose into products of pairwise isogenous elliptic curves. For the proof, the authors use the decomposition of the rational group algebra of the group of automorphisms into simple factors, which induces the decomposition of the Jacobian.
