The superstability states that if \(f\) is a function from a vector space into \(\mathbb {R}\) satisfying \(\|f(x + y) - f(x)f(y)\| \leq \varepsilon\) for some fixed \(\varepsilon>0\), then either \(f\) is bounded or \(f\) satisfies the exponential functional equation \(f(x + y) = f(x)f(y)\). Suppose that \(V\) is a vector space, \(A\) is a unital normed algebra and \(f, g, h:V^2\to A\) are unknown mappings and \(m\) is a fixed positive integer. In this paper, the authors prove the superstability of the generalized Pexider exponential equation \(f(\frac{x+y}{m})^m=g(x)h(y)\). They also prove the superstability of the generalized Pexider exponential equation \(f(\frac{x+y}{r})^r=g(x)h(y),\) where \(r\) is a fixed nonzero rational number, \(f, g, h:V^2\to I(A)\cap A^+\) are unknown mappings, \(I(A)\) is the set of all invertible elements in a commutative unital \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) and \(A^+\) is the positive cone of \(A\).
