    Fix a complex simple Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\), which we assume to be the complexification of a real rank one form. Let \({\mathfrak p}\) be a complexified minimal parabolic subalgebra and form the generalized Verma modules \(V_ E=U({\mathfrak g})\otimes_{{\mathfrak p}}E;\) here E is an irreducible finite dimensional \({\mathfrak p}\)-module. In the case of regular integral infinitesimal character, we explicitly compute the composition factors of \(V_ E\). In particular, composition factors occur with multiplicity one and the number of such is bounded independent of rank \({\mathfrak g}\). These results, in conjunction with results in our preceding paper [J. Algebra 94, 511-545 (1985)], lead to interesting structural aspects of generalized Verma modules, which are not present in the classical Verma module setting. Our arguments depend upon the Kazhdan- Lusztig conjectures and Vogan's algorithm for computing characters.
