A main result of this very interesting study is a complete characterization of compact umbilical hypersurfaces endowed with non-trivial locally static Killing initial data; such manifolds have constant mean curvature and are isomorphic to one of the following: i) the standard sphere \(S^n\), ii) a finite quotient of a warped product \((S^1\times Y, dt^2+h^2(t)g_0)\) where \((Y^{n-1}, g_0)\) is Einstein with positive scalar curvature. An important consequence is that they have harmonic curvature and strictly positive constant scalar curvature.
