The remarkable contributions of Gustave Choquet to functional analysis in the 1950s and 1960s spawned a very large number of supplementary results by a wide range of authors. It was thought by many analysts that the field was more or less exhausted. However, in recent years there has been a reexamination of the theory that has resulted in further interesting results. This paper is an example of such an investigation. In it, the methods of Choquet are applied to investigate the properties of the set of simpliciality in a compact Hausdorff space \(K\) relative to a function space on \(K\). Although some of the properties discovered simply generalise the original work on compact convex sets, others are not so straightforward and in either case it is true that they help to shed new light on old problems.
