If \(\mathcal P\) is a class of topological spaces, then a space \(X\) is said to be projectively \(\mathcal P\) if \(f(X) \in \mathcal P\) for every continuous mapping \(f:X \to \mathbb R^{\omega}\). The authors of this nice paper study and characterize projective versions of classical covering properties of Menger, Hurewicz and Rothberger, and several other covering and closure-type properties defined in terms of selection principles. This investigation was initiated by the reviewer [Cubo Math. J. 8, No.~2, 23--31 (2006; Zbl 1116.54013)]. For example, it is shown that if all finite powers of \(X\) are projectively Menger (Rothberger), then all countable subspaces of the function space \(C_p(X)\) have countable (strong) fan tightness. Every space of cardinality \(< \mathfrak b\) is projectively Hurewicz. A space which is pseudocompact in all finite powers is projectively Rothberger if and only if it is projectively \(\gamma\). A number of examples is provided.
