The International Dobrushin Prize for 2009 was awarded to Yakov Grigor'evich Sinai who is affiliated with the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Mathematics Department of Princeton University. The prize was presented on July 16, 2009, at the conference in honor of the 80th anniversary since the birth of Roland L'vovich Dobrushin. Here Sinai's Lecture on ``Nonstandard ergodic theorems for unbounded functions'' is given. After a short reminiscence of Dobrushin and his work, the remainder of this talk is devoted to several problems having a definite probabilistic component. Section 2 reviews ``Renewal theory for dynamical systems'' and Section 3 is on ``Limiting distributions for ergodic sums of nonintegrable functions''.
