    The global solvability in the class of meromorphic functions of the functional equation of Fermat-type \[ \left[a_0 f(z) + a_1 f(z + c) + a_2 f^{\prime}(z)\right]^3 + \left[b_0 f(z) + b_1 f(z + c) + b_2 f^{\prime}(z)\right]^3 = e^{\alpha z + \beta} \tag{1} \] is investigated. Here \(\alpha, \beta, c, a_j, b_j, j=1,2,3,\) are arbitrary complex numbers such that the vectors \(\mathbf{a} = (a_0, a_1, a_2), \mathbf{b} = (b_0, b_1, b_2)\) are linear independent. The main result of the paper is the following: if Equation (1) has meromorphic solutions of finite order, then it has only entire solutions of the following form \[ f (z) = A e{\frac{\alpha z + \beta}{3}} + C e^{D z}, \] where \(A,C, D\) are constants. A characterization of the constants \(A,C, D\) in terms of \(\alpha, c, a_j, b_j, j=1,2,3,\) and additional constants \(c_0, c_1, c_0^3 + c_1^3 = 1\) is given.
