A post-Lie algebra is a Lie algebra \((g,[-,-])\) with a nonassociative product \(\circ\), satisfying certain axioms implying that the sum of the bracket of \(g\) and of the antisymmetrization of \(\circ\) is a second Lie bracket. This paper studies the post-Lie structures on the Witt algebra \(W\). Firstly, a description of post-Lie structures respecting the \(\mathbb{Z}\)-graduation of \(W\) is established. This gives 8 families, which up to isomorphisms give 4 non isomorphic structures. The second Lie algebra brackets associated to these post-Lie algebras are also described. Secondly, a description of post-Lie structures satisfying a weaker condition: there exists a nonzero integer \(\nu\) such that for any \(k,l\in \mathbb{Z}\), \(W_k\circ W_k\subset W_{k+l}+W_{k+l+\nu}\). This gives 16 families, which up to isomorphisms give 4 non isomorphic structures. In this case also, the second Lie bracket is described. If \((g,[-,-])\) is a Lie algebra and \(R\) is a Rota-Baxter operator of weight 1 on \(g\), then a post-Lie product is induced on \(g\) if we put \(x\circ y=[R(x),y]\). The preceding classification allows to deduce, firstly a classification of all homogenous Rota-Baxter operators on \(W\), secondly all Rota-Baxter operators \(R\) on \(W\) such that for any \(n\in \mathbb{Z}\), \(R(W_n)\subset W_n+W_{n+\nu}\), where \(\nu\) is a nonzero integer.
