Let \(G\) be a finite group, and let \(A\) be a finite abelian \(G\)-group. While the Burnside ring \(\Omega (G)\) is built using \(G\)-sets, the ring of monomial representations \(\Omega(G,A)\) is built using \((G,A)\)-sets. Here a \((G,A)\)-set is a finite free right \(A\)-set with a compatible structure of a left \(G\)-set. If \(A\) is the trivial group, then one is back at the case of \(G\)-sets. The author carefully develops counterparts for \(\Omega(G,A)\) of known facts for \(\Omega(G)\). In particular he studies a multiplicative induction map \(\Omega(H,A)\to\Omega(G,A)\) when \(H\) is a subgroup of \(G\). It is multiplicative in the sense that it commutes with the multiplication in the rings \(\Omega(H,A)\) and \(\Omega(G,A)\).
