The author is interested in Coquet-type formulas for subsequences of the weighted version of the Thue-Morse sequence. Let \(s(n)\) be the sum of the binary digits of the integer \(n\), so that \((-1)^{s(n)}\) is the \(\pm 1\) Thue-Morse sequence. \textit{J. Coquet} in [Invent. Math. 73, 107--115 (1983; Zbl 0528.10006)] that \[ \sum_{0\leq n\leq N-1} (-1)^{s(3n)}= N^\lambda F\Biggl({\log N\over\log 4}\Biggr)+ O(1), \] where \(\lambda= \log 3/\log 4\) and \(F\) is a continuous, nowhere differentiable, 1-periodic function. The author generalizes this result to the case of the weighted sum of binary digits: she gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the corresponding summatory function to have a Coquet-type behavior.
