A subgroup \(X\leq G\) is called \(\pi\)-quasinormal iff \(XS=SX\) for every Sylow subgroup S of G. The main results of the paper are the following: Let H be a normal p-subgroup of G and assume that G/H is supersolvable. Suppose that every subgroup of order p in H is \(\pi\)-quasinormal in G, and when \(p=2\) and H is nonabelian, suppose the same for cyclic subgroups of H of order 4, too. Then G is supersolvable. Let p be the smallest prime divisor of the order of G. Suppose that every subgroup of order p is \(\pi\)-quasinormal in G, and when \(p=2\) and the Sylow 2-subgroup of G is nonabelian, suppose additionally the same for cyclic subgroups of order 4. Then G is p-nilpotent.
