Kasner first presented in 1896, and later published with proof in 1928, his theorem concerning what he termed the inscribed and diagonal pentagons constructed from a given pentagon. A number of researchers, including the author, have studied the extension of this theorem to Poncelet polygons. This brief but well-illustrated exposition shows connections between their work including a link to dynamical systems via the pentagram map. References reflect the continuing activity in this field.
