The parabolic-elliptic Keller-Segel model coupled with the Navier-Stokes system is considered in the whole plane. Using the framework of mild solutions, existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions is studied in the scale invariant spaces. Moreover, the blowup criterion is proved. Informally speaking: if the total mass is greater than \(8\pi\) and the velocity of the fluid is controlled in \(L^2((0,T); L^\infty(\mathbb R^2))\), then blowup occurs. This almost covers the well-known blowup criterion for the Keller-Segel model without fluid interactions.
