The paper aims to prove the existence of solution for the initial-value problem for a system of three-dimensional equations that govern the flow of a gas (compressible fluid) in a non-equilibrium state, although close to equilibrium conditions. The model is based on 3D Euler's equations for the compressible fluid, to which a continuity equation for the total energy is added. The objective is to rigorously prove the existence of a unique solution to the corresponding Cauchy problem. A difficulty in constructing the proof, in comparison with previous works on similar matters, is that the present system does not explicitly include viscosity, the presence of which usually facilitates to prove the existence. The paper produces a proof which remains valid for asymptotically large evolution times.
