By estimating distribution of the hitting time of the Hunt process associated with a strongly local regular Dirichlet form on a metric measure space, the calssical Lieb type inequality is extended to this general framework. Next, the uniqueness of nonnegative super-solutions is proved for semi-linear elliptic equations on metric measure spaces. Moreover, the local Faber-Krahn inequality derived in [\textit{J. Lierl} and \textit{S. Steinerberger}, ``A local Faber-Krahn inequality and applications to Schrödinger equations'', Commun. Partial Differ. Equ. 43, No. 1, 66--81 (2018)] is generalized to local and non-local Dirichlet spaces.
