\textit{V. Grines} and \textit{E. Zhuzhoma} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 357, No. 2, 617--667 (2005; Zbl 1070.37012)] described the homotopy type of closed manifolds of dimension at least 3 admitting a structurally stable diffeomorphism with an orientable pseudotame basic set of codimension-one. They also classified up to conjugacy the structurally stable diffeomorphisms with codimension-one orientable expanding attractors and contracting repellers on \(n\)-tori of dimension at least 3. Here it is shown that frames of one-dimensional separatrices in basins of sources of structurally stable diffeomorphisms of 3-manifolds with 2-dimensional expanding attractors are trivially embedded. This proves the topological assumption needed for the classification of codimension-one expanding attractors in the work of Grines and Zhuzhoma.
