In [Differ. Geom. Appl. 21, No. 2, 173--198 (2004; Zbl 1063.53024)] \textit{B. Opozda} classified locally homogeneous connections on \(2\)-dimensional manifolds. In this paper it is shown that any locally homogeneous affine surface is modeled on one of three type of geometries, namely Type \(\mathcal A\), Type \(\mathcal B\) and Type \(\mathcal C\). The present paper examines the topology of various spaces of locally homogeneous affine surfaces which arise from the classification result of Opozda. In particular, the authors determined the topology of the spaces of Type \(\mathcal A\) models in relation to the rank of the Ricci tensor and the topology of the spaces of Type \(\mathcal B\) models which either are flat or where the Ricci tensor is alternating.
