In this paper, the authors consider the extension of the Fourier transform defined in the spaces \(L^p(m)\) of \(p\)-integrable functions with respect to a vector measure \(m\), defined using the well known Bartle-Dunford-Schwartz integration of scalar valued functions with respect to vector measures. Vector measures are defined to act in compact groups, which allows following the classical scheme and makes the main definitions coming from Harmonic Analysis meaningful. Invariant measures, convolution, Fourier transforms, Young's inequality, are successfully defined and characterized, which shows that the main results of Fourier analysis on compact groups can be extended to the case of vector measures. Almost all the results of this paper were already known for the case of abelian groups. Following the scheme provided by several papers and books in which the main definitions and results were established, the authors reconsider the proofs taking into account the non-abelian character of the compact group.
