      By using the technique of condensing operators, the authors study the following Cauchy problem on the half-axis for a semilinear differential equation in a Banach space \(E:\) \[ y^\prime (t) = Ay(t) + f(t,y(t)), \quad t \in [0,\infty), \] \[ y(0) = y_0 \in E. \] Here \(A \colon D(A) \subset E \to E\) is a linear operator satisfying the Hille-Yosida condition; \(f \colon [0, \infty) \times E \to E\) is a Carathéodory type function obeying a regularity condition with respect to a measure of noncompactness in \(E.\) The existence of a mild solution to the above problem in the case of a densely defined operator \(A\) and an integral solution in the case of a non-densely defined operator is considered.
