Some results about complete and analytic local rings (Q2301451)

Let \(A \subseteq B\) be complete (or analytic) local domains. The paper under review gives conditions for finiteness of the integral closure of \(A\) in \(B\). To be more precise, the authors prove the following: Theorem. Let \(A \subseteq B\) be equicharacteristic complete (or analytic) local domains with the same uncountable residue field \(k\) of characteristic zero. Then the integral closure of \(A\) in \(B\) is a finite \(A\)-module, provided the induced map \(\mathrm{Spec }B \rightarrow \mathrm{Spec }A\) is surjective.
