In this paper, the authors prove the existence of infinitely many low-lying and fundamental closed geodesics on the modular surface which are invariant under time reversal. The prove is based on the dispersion method in bilinear forms applied to thin semigroups coming from restricted continued fractions. The last method was developed in parts I [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2015, No. 19, 9175--9205 (2015; Zbl 1347.11068)] and II [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 19, No. 5, 1331--1359 (2017; Zbl 1403.11054)] of this series.
